HIGHEST LEVEL OF QUALITY AND STANDARD COMPLIANCE
DISCOVER OUR CASE STUDIES
SITUATION
Authorizations for specific operations remain difficult to obtain from aviation authorities. This is especially true for BVLOS flights and other specific operations in non controlled airspace due to the high risk of air collisions.
SOLUTION
Drone operators can mitigate the air risk of their operations by using a professional live air traffic detection system able to accurately locate both drones and aircraft.
IMPACT
By submitting this solution to authorities, drone operators have much higher chances to get their flight authorizations and safely conduct long-distance, BVLOS operations.
SITUATION
For a long time, the lack of a proper regulatory framework prevented open drone operations from reaching their full potential. Now, regulators around the world are finally agreeing on a common approach to enable safety for the users of the skies.
SOLUTION
Private entities can now become a U-space / UTM airspace manager, as certified by their local aviation authorities. They can thus ensure the orderly coexistence between drones, manned aviation and air traffic control. The certified entities will manage flight operations of large numbers of simultaneous drone operations.
IMPACT
U-space airspace managers will need to present a solid risk assessment to their aviation authorities in order to get certified. Both a precise risk analysis and a reliable live air traffic detection system maximize the chances to obtain this certification
SITUATION
Carried out in different environments and airspaces, the same type of drone operations entail a different level of mid air collision risk. Therefore, it may be hard to obtain flight authorizations from the aviation authorities as the risk will be different for every situation.
SOLUTION
Drone operators must offer proper mitigation measures to reduce the risk of their operations. A professional, mobile air traffic detection system that can be integrated with operators’ control stations will provide such a solution.
IMPACT
By using this solution, drone operators have much more chances to get their authorizations issued by the authorities and to further conduct safe operations in multiple different locations.
SITUATION
Only a few categories of airspace are currently monitored with professional equipment, mostly around international airports. However, a lot more areas are yet to be equipped to face the rising number of anticipated aircraft flights and drone operations.
SOLUTION
Airspace managers can deploy scalable and affordable ground based network of air traffic receivers in the most remote areas using existing professional infrastructure. This comprehensive cooperative airspace surveillance solution provides flight information service and allows the detection of electronic conspicuity devices in uncontrolled areas.
IMPACT
Airspace managers will have in hand the necessary safety critical data to reduce the risk of accidents in previously uncontrolled airspaces. This visibility will positively impact several airspace users, for instance regional airports, emergency services, drone operators or infrastructure owners.
SITUATION
High infrastructure, such as wind farms or electric lines, are dangerous for aircraft during night time. To remedy that problem, such infrastructure is equipped with powerful obstacle avoidance lights to be visible by air traffic. However, those constantly on lights create light pollution for both nature and people.
SOLUTION
To reduce this light pollution and increase public acceptance of wind farms or other high infrastructure, an air traffic detection system allows to switch on those obstacle lights only when an aircraft passes by and keep those lights switched off the rest of the time.
IMPACT
To switch off obstacle lights as often as possible during night time is becoming mandatory in more and more countries. An adequate air traffic detection system is an efficient solution to prevent light pollution and improve air traffic safety.
SITUATION
In case of incidents, rescue teams must arrive on-site as fast as possible. Having to act quickly, rescue helicopters, airplanes, and drones risk creating air traffic conflicts within the intervention area or surrounding medical facilities.
SOLUTION
To avoid such accidents and to notify other users of ongoing operations, a reliable live air traffic visualization tool should be used by an emergency operation center in order to manage the deconfliction challenge in such hazardous situations.
IMPACT
Such instantaneous, precise, and reliable air traffic data reduces the risks of accidents and enables rescue teams to continue saving lives without putting others at risk.
FAQ
Does the receiver detect drones?
The G-1090 can detect drones with transponders or ADS-B, but it is not capable of detecting 4G signals. This means that drones equipped with our Leman RID tracker are recognized by traditional 4G antennas and forwarded to INVOLI's servers rather than directly by the receivers.
What is the G-1090 data consumption?
The G-1090 sends at least 1GB of data each day; due to Multilateration, this amount increases as the number of receivers increases.
What is the G-1090 detection range?
The receiver can identify planes within a 20-kilometer radius equipped with a one-watt ADS-B transponder. In the case of General aviation aircrafts equipped with 250 Watts transponders, this surface can be expanded to a radius of 400 kilometers (40km radius for FLARM). When implementing multilateration, Mode S, Mode A/C, and FLARM can be detected on 1600 km2 (5 receivers).
Is there a risk of noise/perturbation near the receivers?
Our receivers are passive, which means they don't transmit any signals and hence don't interfere with other antennas.
